Hi Everyone.

    Here's what I've been doing:

February 10, 2010

Hi all. It is a snow day here in North Jersey and a great time to update my website. I have a new Kaleidoscope Smart-Plate pattern, the Pontiac Start the Smart Way! This old traditional pattern can be done super easily with faux triangles and the Smart-Plate trimming method. The block is not what you think.... the stars are made when the blocks come together.

Peggy McIntire, from Georgia will have booths at the AQS shows in both Lancaster, PA and Knoxville, TN. Be sure to stop by and say "Hi" to her there. You can also see her demonstrate the Kaleidoscope Smart-Plate.

I am in the works to begin my international tour teaching, probably in late fall of this year.

Aside from the above, I have been working on new class ideas and patterns. One of the new things we are working on for this year at the shop is a "Make it and Take it" class. These are very popular at quilt shows. A quick and easy project that can be finished in a small amount of time. Last month we made a simple tote bag and this month we are making a "grocery" bag using vinyl-ized fabric. Next months project is going to be a crayon/coloring book tote bag. If you are interested in any of these patterns, please email me. (Make it and Take it pattern request).

I have also been doing alot of knitting and crochet. I, like many, do not enjoy the finishing process of making a sweater. I found a book called "Everyday Crochet" by Doris Chan. (Please look this up. She has a blog and everything!) These lacey sweaters are crocheted from the top edge down. I love them! I have already made two sweaters. I just have to figure out how to get the fit just right. Thank you Doris Chan!

My high-school reunion is coming up. Have you been to yours? I hope to get there, but logistics could be an issue. Many of my classmates are no longer in the metro-tri-state area, so i am afraid there wont be too many of us there. I'll let you know how it goes.

Guess I'll sign-off for now.

Talk to you soon!

Sharon
